Harder than expected, myDGB.net have made their way to the final of the Polish tournament Your road to Katowice with a 2-1 victory over ALSEN (7-16 on de_mirage_csgo, 16-7 on de_nuke_ve and 16-3 on de_train_se).
The heavy underdogs ALSEN got the chance to play their map-pick first, de_mirage_csgo, and they started on the CT side.
It seemed like all was going well for the Poles at the very beginning, but the pistol round slipped through their hands as they let Peter "uno" Lipowski clutch a 1-on-3 situation with the bomb planted. However, as soon as they saved enough money for the real weapons, ALSEN evened out the score at 3-3.
myDGB.net took the next two and it seemed like they've broken the resistance, but ALSEN started playing much better than the Slovakian-Czech squad from that moment as they defended successfully for seven rounds in a row, leading 10-5 at the half. In that period, particularly on fire were Norbert "Norbiak" Bagiński and the team's AWPer Emil "emems" Car, the former having a 16:7 score before the half, and the latter right behind with 15:7.
ALSEN took the following pistol round as well and hinted that this could be sign of the first surprise in Poland. Indeed they cruised to a 16-7 victory on the first map and they handed myDGB.net a tough situation to come back from. Car added another 11 kills in the second half and ended up on top on de_mirage_csgo with a 26:13 score.
The match moved to de_nuke_ve where it all began similarly to the first map, with myDGB taking the pistol round and then ALSEN evening out the score. At 3-3 Car had an excellent 4-kill round to give his team the first lead in the second map, but myDGB's reply was fierce as they stringed eight rounds in a row with Karel "sneix" Pavlica topping the scoreboard (18:6) as the half ended 11-4.
The score soon became 12-4 as myDGB won their third pistol round of the match, but they fell to a glock eco after that, giving ALSEN an opportunity to get back in the game. The Poles did get nearer at 12-7, but Ladislav "GuardiaN" Kovács, who was very quiet until this point, stepped up and recorded 8 AWP kills in the next few rounds to bring his team a 16-7 victory and secure the third map.
GuardiaN's AWP started working near the end of map two
Everything seemed to have fallen into place for the Slovakian-Czech as they continued playing strong on de_train_se as counter-terrorists. After taking another pistol round, myDGB.net did drop the first buy round, but then strolled to a 13-2 lead with Kovács continuing where he left off at the end of map two, AWPing everyone in his sight (19:4 score).
The last pistol round of the match went to ALSEN, again with Car's multiple kills making the difference, but a surprise buy from Damage Gamers Belgrade in the second round paid off and put an end to this match, as they came out victorious 16-3.
